MIAMI, FLA – Living, carrying out, and as we say being hospitality is in the Camillus House DNA, so when Mr. Hospitality approached our organization to learn how they could partner with us to advance our mission to end chronic homelessness in Miami, it was a match made in heaven.
Camillus House changes lives through compassionate hospitality, comprehensive healing, a continuum of housing, and career help for the more than 1700 housed nightly at 11 facilities, including 194 families with children. With the support of partners like Mr. Hospitality, the organization served over 194,000 meals, provided over 20,000 showers, and distributed just under 20,300 clothing items last year at our main NCL campus alone. Mr. Hospitality’s generous check donation will directly support services such as these.
Led by CEO/Founder, Mathieu Massa, Mr. Hospitality is a fully integrated hospitality management group that conceptualizes, owns and operates acclaimed restaurants and five-star nightlife destinations in Miami. Massa’s contributions to Miami Beach have enduring value and will continue to shape the city’s culture, economy, and reputation as a top destination. He has invested in various properties and businesses in the area, which have created job opportunities and boosted the local economy. His development of high-end properties has also contributed to the city’s general increase in quality service and leading luxury destinations. Beyond Massa’s corporate and economic contributions, he has taken an effort to incorporate the importance of Mr. Hospitality as a neighbor to the community. Introducing Mr. Hospitality Cares, the renowned hospitality group’s corporate social responsibility program that launched in the beginning of 2023. Committed to creating a corporate environment that supports their core values and impacts the community in which we live, the program’s goal is to give back, illuminate and inspire positive change while creating a safe and fun space where their team thrives. Through Mr.Hospitality Cares, a $1 donation is added to each check at all restaurants under the Mr. Hospitality Miami umbrella, inclusive of Marion, El Tucan, and Queen Miami Beach. This contribution is totaled quarterly and donated to a different local charity.
The closing of Q1 2023 marked the first donation in which a $20,304 check was granted to Camillus house on behalf of Mr. Hospitality Cares. Mr. Hospitality also hopes to work closely with Camillus House to employ graduates from our culinary vocational training programs. Hilda Fernandez, CEO of Camillus House expressed, “We couldn’t help level the playing field clients need to succeed without the investment of employers willing to pay fair living wages and companies like Mr. Hospitality contribute to the economic growth in Miami.” Camillus has a 70% job placement success rate upon graduation.
To celebrate this incredible gift and new joint effort, members from the Mr. Hospitality group visited the campus for a check presentation and lunch service volunteering in the Ocean Bank dining hall.
Photos from the day of service and check presentation are available for the media.
